Shape Shifters

A Shape shifter is said to be a malevolent witch that can transform into, possess or disguise themselves as an animal.

 

"By means of it, it goes on all fours"

A Shape shifter can only gain its powers by committing a heinous act most commonly the killing of a family member. This is why they are considered evil, however this does not mean a shape shifter can not try redeem him or herself.

They can then transform into coyotes, wolves, foxes or bears.

OOC NOTE: To stop confusion, players whom choose this role will only be permitted to shift into one form of animal. So please choose wisely.

Common Personalities and appearance. 

Shape Shifters are considered evil, the belief being that you can not become a Shape shifter without committing various nefarious acts within your life. Despite their background Shape shifters share the common trait of maintaining their human consciousness. 

 

Shape shifters will remain human in an effort to hide their true selves, they can shift back and forth between human and animal counterpart at will  but these transformations do not happen in the blink of an eye and can sometimes take several minutes.  

Their animal counterpart is basically a second soul to the shape shifter, and can often have a personality of its own, to remove a shifters animal soul could be fatal, when a shifter passes their soul returns for reincarnation, to destroy it kills it completely. 

To maintain secrecy Shape shifters will commonly only change into species found within the region they are residing in. 

OOC NOTE: Shape shifters are permitted to use visual graphics for their appearance, anything visually overloading on graphics that causes lag to others may get you a warning, no visually loading graphics should be used during WWM combat on sim. BLOODLINES IS NOT PERMITTED.

Shape Shifter Tiered Ranks: 

As you know blackwater Dice combat improved with the tiered system, you will change roles as you spend time in blackwater. If your role is not automatically updated, please contact an admin

Tier One: Omega

2 months + 1 
Tier Two: Delta

2-4 months + 2 
Tier Three: Gamma

4-6 months + 3
Tier Four: Beta

6-7 months + 4
Tier Five: Alpha/Luna

7-9 months +5

Mating.

Shape shifters are human first and foremost, so all aspects such as having a family are available to them. 

We will not tolerate any form of bestiality in Blackwater however, you can show general affection much like you would your family dog, but we will not permit inter species relations. 

Abilities. 

Animal Form:

Shape shifters can transform and take on the natural abilities of an a variety of animal species native to Blackwater.

(Shifting takes a minimum of three turns in RP)

Dominating Traits:

While in human form, Shape shifters will maintain their animal traits in a halved capacity, such as 

Strength, Speed, Agility, Smell and hearing.

 

Durability:

Shape shifters possess an enhanced resilience to physical harm and injury, far surpassing that of ordinary humans. Their heightened durability allows them to recover more quickly from wounds and endure impacts that would severely debilitate a human.

Mimicry:

They can mimic the voices of loved ones to draw people out alone, they will also at times use a bone whistle to put guards and watch dogs to sleep

Bone weapons:

They form weapons out of human bones and make poison out of rotten flesh. They can paralyze people with the powders they make from bone.

Regeneration:

Shape shifters possess accelerated healing abilities, allowing them to recover from small cuts, broken bones (not compound or debilitating fractures) and illness faster then normal humans. Usually a wound that would take two weeks to heal on a human would take only one on a Skin walker.

OOC Note: Be realistic, you are not going to break your leg and thirty seconds later be running and jumping. 

Telepathic link:

Shape Shifters can project thoughts and feel the emotions of their own "pack" so to speak. This connection is strongest between a parent and child or two mated Shape Shifters. 

Should a human mate a Shape shifter the shifter can feel all the humans emotions but the human can not feel as much of the shape shifters. 

Weakness

Communication while in animal form:

Shape Shifters can only telepathically link with their pack, or be understood by Earth Element Witches, to anyone else any attempt at speaking will just sound like growling and barking(or the equal to whatever noise your animal choice makes)

Morality: 

Shape Shifters are not immortal and will suffer the same affects as humans and witches, aging, blood loss are some things skin walkers are susceptible too, due to their accelerated healing however disease is not often a cause.
 

Mind Control: 

Shape Shifters  do not have any defense against any form of mind melding magic or control, they are weakened due to their natural telepathic link.

 

Alphas Call: 

No matter the age of the Shape shifter, if they have joined a pack or clan of any form they will hear their Alphas call and be forced to respond. If a skin walker is trapped in anyway they will exude great distress through the emotional link.
 

Silver:

Is dangerous in all forms to shape shifters, it stops healing in all forms and if shackled render them unable to shift into their animal forms, Silver burns the flesh considerably any wounds gained from silver will always scar. 
 

Bite of a Vampire: 

Are often dangerous to Shape shifters, causing infection, necrosis, and suppressing their healing abilities, and making them susceptible to compulsion or manipulation. In extreme cases, it could also lead to paralysis if left medically or magically untreated or eventually death.   
 

Susceptible: 

Shifters have less resistance against a witches charms and spells

 

Moon Effects

Shape shifters are subject to the phases of the moon, During a full moons peak they will lose control of their ability to shift and will do so involuntarily. 

Shape shifters become more feral in their behaviors at this time, if they lose consciousness they will revert to their human form. 

A full blood moon however, causes a rage within Shape shifters this is considered an event and should the player wish to do this, they need Admin permission.
